About & Research
Cecilia Rosengren is a professor at the Department of Literature, History of Ideas, and Religion at the University of Gothenburg. Her research addresses early modern intellectual and scientific history, with a focus on female natural philosophers including Anne Conway, Émilie du Châtelet and Margaret Cavendish, as well as gender studies and canon critique.
She currently leads projects on Northern European imaginaries of winter and cold during the Little Ice Age, and on the intellectual contribution of women during the Enlightenment in Gothenburg. She also coordinates the interdisciplinary Nordic research network Philosophy in Other Words on women's philosophical activity in the early modern period.
