Prof. Siv Gøril Brandtzæg

Siv Gøril Brandtzæg is Professor of Comparative Literature at the Department of Language and Literature at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim. She leads the research project Skillingsvisene i Norge, 1550–1950: Den forsømte kulturarven (Norwegian broadside ballads, 1550–1950), the largest research project on broadside ballads in Norway, with 25 participants.

Her research interests lie in early modern media history, 18th-century Scandinavian literature, climate discourses in pre-modern literature, and disaster studies. Her recent teaching has covered early modern and modern poetry, poetics and literary criticism, 18th-century prose, and climate change and literature.
